About the Majesty Palm
The Majesty Palm (Ravenea rivularis) is native to Madagascar, where it grows along riverbanks and in humid lowland areas. It features long, gracefully arching pinnate fronds on a smooth, grey-brown trunk, creating a classic tropical palm silhouette. Indoors it can reach 2-3 meters with a relatively narrow spread. While commonly sold as a houseplant, it is one of the more challenging palms for indoor culture, as it requires consistently high humidity and even moisture -- conditions that mimic its riparian habitat. When its needs are met, it provides a lush, resort-style tropical ambiance.

Care Tips
Needs bright indirect light; insufficient light is the most common cause of decline indoors. Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged -- it naturally grows near water and does not tolerate drought. High humidity (above 50%) is essential; brown frond tips are almost guaranteed in dry indoor air. Use a humidifier and mist regularly. Susceptible to spider mites in dry conditions -- inspect fronds frequently. Feed every 2-4 weeks during the growing season with a palm-specific fertilizer containing micronutrients. Yellowing lower fronds may indicate magnesium or iron deficiency. Repot annually in spring.
