About the Satin Pothos
Satin Pothos (Scindapsus pictus) is not a true Pothos but a related genus native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, from Bangladesh through Thailand to Borneo. Its heart-shaped leaves are matte dark green with silvery, reflective spots and splashes that give them a satin-like sheen. The leaves have a slightly thicker texture than Epipremnum species, with a velvety feel. Popular cultivars include 'Argyraeus' (smaller, more spotted) and 'Exotica' (larger leaves with broader silver patches). Its elegant, shimmering foliage and graceful trailing habit make it a refined alternative to standard Pothos varieties.

Care Tips
Prefers medium to bright indirect light; the silver markings show best in brighter conditions. Tolerates lower light but growth slows significantly. Water when the top 2-3 cm of soil is dry; slightly more drought-tolerant than Pothos due to its thicker leaves. Curling leaves signal underwatering. Average household humidity is adequate, though higher humidity promotes larger leaves. Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Provide a moss pole or trellis for climbing, which encourages larger leaf development. Propagate from stem cuttings with at least one node rooted in water or sphagnum moss.
